The Queer Comedy Party is a night celebrating many of the talented queer comedians in Asheville and all over the country. All the performers are queer identifying but the audience doesn't have to be. This month's headliner is Kathleen McDonald!!!!
Kathleen McDonald is a comedian, storyteller, and writer currently based in North Carolina. She has opened for Cameron Esposito in her Person of Consequence Tour and Emo Philips in the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. She is a “founding sister” and a regular performer with Eyes Up Here Comedy which features all female-identifying and non-binary performers. During her time in Atlanta, she held a spot as a weekend regular at the Laughing Skull Lounge. As the instructor We* Do Standup workshops, she mentors aspiring female and genderqueer comedians and creates safe safes to perform. During quarantine, she wrote and published her first novel, REAL-ish: Heartfelt Dramedy in the Age of Insanity which is available on Amazon. Her jokes center around personal experiences and day-to-day absurdities from the light and relatable to the dark and bizarre.
